Goat Husbandry

What is goat husbandry?

Animal husbandry is the practice of caring and breeding livestock animals.
So that means, Goat Husbandry is the practice of caring and breeding goats.

  • Animal husbandry plays a very important role in the development and preservation of all livestock animals.
  • Taking good care of livestock improves the animal's ability to convert feed into meat, milk, or fiber for people to eat, drink, or wear.
  • Learning good husbandry practices plays an important role when owning a Fainting Goat.
  • This is because the Fainting Goat is a breed of goat that has a "Watch" status from the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy.
  • Just a few years ago, they had a "Threatened" status which means that there weren't very many Fainting Goats living in the United States.
  • But with good husbandry skills, we can keep the Fainting Goats healthy and breeding to help increase the number of Fainting Goats living in the United States.
